It is your decision to choose whether or not union representation is right for you and your family. If you don’t want a union, it’s your right to say “No.”

You can:

Refuse to sign a union card or petition
Campaign against the union
Work without interruption or interference from union organizers and supporters when you are in patient care and other work areas
Refuse to talk with a union organizer or colleague working on behalf of the union if you are contacted at work, home, over text message or on your mobile phone

District 1199C labor contracts typically require employees they represent to pay union dues or fees just to keep their jobs with their employer.

This requirement exists in the union’s contracts at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Temple University Hospital and at other hospitals.

If District 1199C wins the right to represent you and you don’t pay them, the union may negotiate the right to demand that you be FIRED!
